Samsung Frame TV Art Mode: settings & troubleshooting

Frequently asked questions

What is Art Mode on a Samsung Frame TV?

Art Mode is the low-power display state the Frame enters when you "turn it off": instead of a black screen it shows a piece of art at reduced brightness, with a motion sensor and light sensor adjusting it to the room. Art comes from the Samsung Art Store subscription or your own uploads in My Collection.

Why does my Frame TV art keep turning off?

Usually the motion sensor (no one detected), the Art Mode sleep timer, or an HDMI device such as Apple TV telling the TV to power down. The keeps-turning-off guide walks through each cause.

How do I turn Art Mode on or off?

Press the Power button once from TV mode to enter Art Mode; press and hold it to turn the TV fully off. Art Mode can be disabled entirely in Settings → General → Art Mode settings. See turning Art Mode on and off.

Does Art Mode use a lot of electricity?

Less than TV mode but more than off – roughly 30–60 W on a 55–65" Frame at typical Art Mode brightness, dropping to a few watts when the motion sensor puts it to sleep. Details in the power consumption guide.
